From the interior carpets to the high-tech plastics used for mechanical parts, Aquafil contributes to the quality of the vehicles produced by the top names in the automotive industry.

The synthetic yarns produced by the BCF division, used in car mats and upholstery, need to meet the high quality standards demanded by German manufacturers, while the Engineering Plastics products feature in various sectors of the vehicle parts industry.

Aquafil develops polymers which enable the production of plastic parts used to replace components normally made from metal. This decision has improved aerodynamic performance and reduces the weight of the car, thus cutting down on consumption and polluting emissions.

    The Business Unit Engineering Plastics also operates strongly in the Automotive sector. Aquafil Group's aim is to grant our customers the best conditions for innovation and performances. Door handles, clutch pedals, lights and indicator supports, engine covers and air intake manifolds are only some examples of automotive application printed with our materials. In addition, our sustainability program ensures a reduced impact on the environment and a new generation line of products made of recycled polymers, following the new sustainability trend in accordance with Directive 2000/53/CE of the European Parliament.

    Textiles on Four Wheels

    The Aquafil Group produces Nylon 6 (Polyamide &) yarn which is particularly popular among customers who produce car mats and upholstery for the automotive market. The German market in particular is extremely important for us, as the German manufacturers with a long tradition of excellence in the European car industry use finished products made from our nylon fibers. For example, end users include brands such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes, the élite among car manufacturers in Europe and beyond. Aquafil filaments can be used to make various components as you can see from the photo gallery.
