Aquafil's three business units — BCF, NTF and EP — are able to satisfy the demands of specialized partners operating in a wide range of sectors and markets.

Thanks to its ability to renew itself and commitment to research, the BCF business unit has manufactured products for the artificial turf systems used on sports pitches. In addition to the applied research and high quality of its products, Aquafil works closely with some of the leading Italian and European brands in the underwear, swimwear and sportswear industries, becoming even more a benchmark for a new approach to sports, whether at amateur or professional level.
An excellent example is the microfiber Dryarn, used to make garments which are extremely resistant, lightweight and breathable.
For the fashion, the Aquafil Group realyzes Nylon 6.6 filaments used by the most important player of the hosiery's sector.
At the same time, using the technopolymeros produced by the Business Unit Engineering Plastics, the Aquafil Group has begun to produce Gthe snowshoe used to walk and run on the snow, in the wild nature. The usage of plastic instead of wood materials permits the growth of the technical performances, the lightness, the strength and the safety of this products.

Yarn for swimwear
The NTF Business Unit produces, between the different things, polyamide 6 yarn used to realyze different types of fabric for the sport and swimwear. Thanks to the collaboration with the most important Italian and European companies in this sector, the Aquafil yarn play a very important role in the international sport competition.

AEP, Freetime and Sport
Sport and leisure industries have grown significantly in the last decade. Also in this sector, it is possible to find several products which are realized with techno polymers by Engineering Plastics Business Unit. Our standartd grade Aquamid AV has been used for the seets of two of the most famous football staduim in italy. Aquamid HCE grades are wildly used in the production bricolage tools, while our low temperature stabilized Polyamide has been developed particularly for winter sport equipment.

AEP and the Ciaspola
Aquafil Engineering Plastics has developed a new kind of technic polymers, used to produce Ciaspola, a tipical instrument of the Trentino tradition. Ciaspola, used in the mountain to walk over the snow, has ever had specific characteristics for the lightness, resistence and technic performances. Thanks to this new polymer, Aquafil can supply to the producers a material which is able to substitute the wood and strings traditionally used, so ensuring higher level of resistence and technic performance.

Dryarn at the IFSC Climbing World Championship 2011
Dryarn clothing was worn by the Italian team at the climbing championships in Arco, Trentino (July 15-24, 2011). The event comprised 10 days of top-level competition and was attended by athletes from all over the world.

Marco Olmo chooses Dryarn
Since 2008, Dryarn has been a faithful companion of the solitary exploits of veteran marathon runner Marco Olmo (1948), who has always competed under extreme conditions. His long, demanding races have taken him through difficult, hostile environments and through mountains and deserts. Now aged over 60, his way of life is still an example for the rest of the "ultratrial" world.
