AquafilSLO – Ljubljana

Acquired in 1995, this plant marked the first stage of the Group’s internationalization program and was the first part of the privatization process which began in this central European state after declaring independence from Yugoslavia. The plant is responsible for the polymerization of nylon 6 and the production of carpet and textile yarns.

In 2011, the ECONYL® regeneration system was inaugurated at the AquafilSLO factory in Ljubljana. A center of excellence for the Group’s sustainability and innovation policies, this plant regenerates pre- and post- consumer nylon 6 waste into ECONYL® nylon. The facility also operates and develops important pretreatment processes for post-consumer waste.
