Desso’s luminous carpet™

As humans we are often guided by light and color. We tend to search for attributes that please the eye, especially for interior decor. To fulfill this sensation, Desso and Philips created the “luminous carpet.”
It is a completely new concept of using and interacting with a carpet in a designated space. Light can be used to guide the people’s attention, provide information with different purpose or used to inspire or give direction for people to naturally follow.
This technology combines robust LED lighting from Philips with light transmissive carpet specially developed by Desso using Aquafil yarn.
One of the first to adopt this innovative carpet is the Berlin office of German newspaper BILD.  The newly installed Luminous Carpet created an additional wow factor to the office space and added the unique feature of displaying welcome messages and timely news updates on an unusual platform.
The possibilities are endless!
