Aquafil & Radici Marine
Weaving Circularity into the Marine Industry.
United by a commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility, the two Italian companies bring together decades of expertise to redefine the future of marine carpets.
Founded in 2017, Radici Marine is the brand of Radici Pietro Industries & Brands S.p.A. dedicated to the marine industry. With more than 75 years of textile heritage, the company brings Made in Italy craftsmanship and innovation on board, offering high-quality flooring solutions for cruise ships, ferries, and yachts.
Each project combines meticulous attention to detail with a customer-oriented approach, bringing together design, comfort, and technical performance. From concept to installation, Radici Marine delivers fully bespoke solutions certified according to IMO standards, ensuring excellence at every stage.
Its strength lies in production flexibility, complete supply chain control, and the ability to merge creativity with performance. Innovation and responsibility guide every choice — from biobased technologies such as AlleRAD treatments to the use of ECONYL® regenerated nylon in the Bloom Back collection, designed for full recyclability.
With deep roots in Italian manufacturing and a forward-looking approach, Radici Marine is redefining the concept of marine carpeting by focusing on next-generation materials and an increasingly conscious approach to product life cycles.

The Collaboration: Circular Design for the Marine Sector
The collaboration between Aquafil and Radici Marine was born from a shared vision — to merge aesthetics, performance, and circularity in driving the next generation of carpet innovation.
As part of Aquafil’s R2R® (Born Regenerated to be Regenerable) program, Radici Marine has developed Bloom Back, an IMO-certified carpet collection that embodies the meeting point between research, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
The R2R® program was created to rethink the design of carpets and rugs through a circular approach, considering their entire life cycle.Through co-design with industry manufacturers, it promotes the development of textile flooring made with ECONYL® regenerated nylon — which, instead of being sent to landfill, can be regenerated and reintroduced into the production cycle.
Within this framework, Bloom Back marks a turning point in marine carpet design. The collection is made entirely of polyamide 6, the same material used for both yarn and backing, ensuring full material compatibility and complete recyclability at the end of life.
Beyond its technical performance, Bloom Back embodies a new design philosophy: creating flooring that combines beauty, durability, and environmental responsibility — demonstrating how innovation can reduce the environmental impact of the maritime sector without compromising quality or aesthetics.
An approach that, once again, brings to life the concept of Born Regenerated to be Regenerable by Aquafil: a tangible step toward a circular textile flooring future.
A Shared Path Toward Collaborative Circularity
The R2R® program acts as a collaborative project that unites designers, manufacturers, and innovators to rethink the life cycle of carpets.
Through partnerships like this one with Radici Marine, Aquafil demonstrates how co-design can turn materials and ideas into lasting examples of circular innovation.
