AQUAFIL WITH THE ECONYL® BRAND AT THE REGENERATION EVENT
From 15 to 18 April, near our headquarter in Italy took place the event “REGENERATION”, a competition sponsored by Macro Design Studio of Rovereto in collaboration with the International Living Future Institute in Seattle (USA) where young architects and engineers from all over Europe have ventured in the development of a sustainable regeneration project of a public building in the town of Arco.
The building chosen was the historical bus station in Arco, which was redesigned following the principles of the Living Building Challenge.
Aquafil was also present as partner of the event and has contributed with the ECONYL® brand that was included in the project in the form of Interface carpet tiles. The story of the ECONYL® Regeneration System was presented to the three teams and the guys had the possibility to touch and see with their own eyes the waste materials that are regenerated into final products, in this case the tiles from Interface Net-Effect ™ collection.
The closing event of this competition was a conference on “Living Future Made of Living Building” with international speakers such as Amanda Sturgeon, Martin Brown and Emanuele Naboni.
The whole conference was an eye-opener on new steps and the future of sustainable design following the Living Building Challenge. For the winners of this year competition, congratulations!
We will follow how the project will be adapted and hopefully how it will come true.
