CC-Tapis and Aquafil
Milan, February 2024 – In a groundbreaking collaboration marking Milan Fashion Week 2024, CC-Tapis, a leading producer of responsible interior solutions, hosted Sunnei at its Milanese Headquarters, introducing a revolutionary runway experience featuring a bespoke R2R® rug crafted from regenerated ECONYL® Nylon yarns.
Continuing its tradition of bridging the realms of fashion and design, CC-Tapis showcased its commitment to sustainability by leveraging its new Milanese prototyping center to produce a custom rug specifically tailored for fashion shows. The partnership with Sunnei pushed creative boundaries, transforming the traditional runway into a canvas for innovation.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the rug served as a striking centerpiece for Sunnei’s FW 24 runway show and symbolized a commitment to circularity within the design and fashion industries. Made in Milan, the rug embodies the ethos of conscious practices, embodying precision and quality throughout its production process.
Drawing upon its expertise, CC-Tapis utilized the robotufting technique with ECONYL®, an innovative yarn derived from nylon waste. This collaboration underscores a paradigm shift towards responsible design. What sets this project apart is its integration into Aquafil’s R2R® program, ensuring that upon the conclusion of the presentation, the rug can be fully recycled, with its fibers regenerated into brand-new Nylon yarn.
