German Sustainability Award: Voith Recognized for Infinity +Green Press Felts Featuring ECONYL® Nylon
Aquafil is pleased to share that Voith, a global technology group that includes the Voith Paper division, has been awarded the German Sustainability Award 2025 in the Products – Resources category for its Infinity +Green press felts and the circular recycling concept behind them. The recognition highlights a closed-loop system that integrates ECONYL® regenerated nylon as a key element of the process.
Closing the Loop Through Chemical Recycling
Infinity +Green felts are designed using only one type of polyamide, enabling efficient recycling without compromising performance. After use, the felts are collected and processed through Aquafil’s proprietary chemical recycling system, which converts PA6 waste into new ECONYL® granulate. This high-quality material is then used to produce new filaments, allowing the loop to be closed repeatedly without loss of quality.
This closed-loop system significantly reduces the need for virgin polyamide and limits end-of-life disposal. The Infinity +Green concept supports a carbon footprint reduction of up to 31% compared to conventional felt production, while ensuring consistent technical performance.
Strengthening a Collaborative Approach
The recognition further reinforces the collaboration established between Aquafil and Voith, demonstrating how shared expertise can lead to practical and scalable circular solutions for industrial applications.
Aquafil is honored to contribute to a project that has received such a prestigious acknowledgement and remains committed to supporting partners in the development of circular and high-value material solutions.
