Healthy Seas Nominated for the “Ocean Tribute” Award 2024

The Healthy Seas Foundation, founded by Aquafil with other 2 organizations in 2013, has received a prestigious nomination for the “Ocean Tribute” Award 2024, a recognition that rewards an initiative of excellence dedicated to safeguarding the seas and improving the global climate. This award, promoted by boot Düsseldorf in collaboration with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the German Ocean Foundation, celebrates projects that contribute to the preservation of oceans and the fight against climate change.

The nomination acknowledges the significance of the Ghost Farms – Reclaiming Waters Operation, through which Healthy Seas carried out a major cleanup of abandoned fish farms in Greece. This initiative not only restores the balance of the marine environment but also raises awareness of the negative impacts these disused farms have on coastal ecosystems and local communities.

A Recognition for Concrete Actions

Winning the “Ocean Tribute” Award would provide an opportunity to expand Healthy Seas’ activities and intensify planned initiatives for 2025.

Voting is open until December 15, 2024.
