  • The Aquafil Group acquires W & J Knox carpet fiber division
16.07.2015

The Aquafil Group acquires W & J Knox carpet fiber division

The Aquafil Group has signed a binding agreement with W & J Knox in Kilbirnie, Scotland for the acquisition of their carpet yarn processing division. W & J Knox has a well-established operation of cabling, heat setting and air entangling that services the UK and continental European markets for both fiber manufacturers and carpet mills.

The Aquafil Group has established a new company under the name of Aquafil UK that will continue the W & J Knox fiber processing operation once the acquisition is complete. The completion is likely to occur in early September 2014.

According to Franco Rossi, President of Aquafil USA, this acquisition confirms the Group’s commitment to the carpet industry in Europe and worldwide.

The Kilbirnie plant will represent the perfect logistical base to supply customers in the UK and other Northern European countries. The Kilbirnie facility will complement Aquafil’s existing European plants located in Italy, Slovenia and Germany.
