NeoCon 2017

BRINGING HOME THE GOLD AT NeoCon 2017

From June 12-14 this year, the world’s premier platform for the commercial design industry hosted more than 50,000 participants for NeoCon 2017 at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, IL.

This year, Aquafil USA introduced ECONYL® Pure, the world’s only piece dyeable fiber made from 100% regenerated nylon – at least 50% of which is post-consumer waste. ECONYL® Pure offers the ultimate flexibility in design while helping designers contribute to a more sustainable future by using this closed loop product. This revolutionary fiber was featured with a custom carpet produced by Mannington for this year’s showroom, and Aquafil USA was awarded a Best of NeoCon Gold Award in carpet fiber for ECONYL® Pure.

Aquafil’s massive window display in our 11th-floor showroom got a makeover this year as well. Displaying carpet samples using ECONYL® fiber from Interface, Mannington, Tandus and Delos Rugs were intermingled with textile samples of clothing, swimsuits and fishnet tights from Outerknown, Levi, Speedo, Adidas, Auria London, Volcom and Kunert. The clothing and swimsuit examples are a small sampling of the large number of textile brands that are not only recognizing the quality and sustainability of ECONYL fibers, but are now using the yarn in their products.
