Aquafil’s Polyamide 6 Polymer production has some unique characteristics:

Applications
The versatility of Nylon 6 makes it ideal for injection molding, extrusion and CNC production of a myriad of things, including accessories in the fashion sector (e.g. glasses frames) and furniture in the design sector (e.g. chairs). Below are examples.
Injection molding
Injection molding is a manufacturing process for producing components by injecting molten material into a mold. Aquafil creates different kinds of nylon-based compoundings used in the injection molding industry like PA 6 and PA 6.6. We provide both standard nylon, coming from fossil material, and recycled nylon coming from waste material.
Extrusion
Extrusion is a process used to create items by pushing material through a die of the desired cross-section. Aquafil supplies a wide range of PA 6 polymers suitable for extrusion, produced from fossil materials or from regenerated waste materials.
Compounding
Aquafil has a long-standing tradition of supplying the compounding market with 2.4 and 2.7 viscosity polymers.

Our R&D department is constantly at work to improve our existing nylon-based products and expand our offering in a wide range of sectors. Thanks to our research, we are increasing the use of ECONYL® nylon to play our part in achieving the circular economy.
