Aquafil USA Honors Employees with 10th Annual Employee Appreciation Picnic
This week, Aquafil USA honored employees with its 10th Annual Employee Appreciation Picnic, a two-day event at Aquafil headquarters in Cartersville, GA. On September 19th and 20th, the side yard of the extrusion plant at Aquafil USA was transformed into a giant picnic, as more than 350 employees over two days and four meal shifts were able to enjoy food, fun and prizes to celebrate their work at the two Georgia plants.
“We don’t cater this event because the management staff wants the employees to know that we really value them, so we cook the food ourselves and serve it to them to show our appreciation,” said Robert Rebello, Executive Vice President.
All the management staff pitches in to help set up, cook, serve and clean up a massive company picnic that lasts for two solid days, with eating shifts well into the night. Instead of asking employees who work opposite days or the night shift to come in to enjoy a meal provided by Aquafil USA during their time off, the picnic schedule is carefully crafted to have employees eat and enjoy themselves during their shift. Workers from Aquafil USA’s finishing plant are bused over in waves to enjoy the festivities with their extrusion colleague counterparts.
What did employees enjoy? Burgers, hot dogs, smoked pork tacos, and a salad bar for starters. Games and prizes were awarded as well as recognition plaques to employees with five, ten and fifteen years of service. Nearly 150 prizes and gift cards were given to the staff by way of a raffle, including televisions, ipads and even an Amazon Echo. And if that wasn’t enough, a $20 gift card was given to the winner of a watermelon eating contest during every shift.
The management staff at Aquafil USA is grateful to all its employees who work to produce and deliver award-winning yarn to our customers every day.
