Aquafil USA Earns “Recycler of the Year” Award from CARE

Aquafil USA was named Recycler of the Year for 2015 by Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) for its historic and continuous unrelenting consumption of Nylon 6 carpets and processed Nylon 6 carpet product across North America.

CARE’s mission is to advance market-based solutions that increase landfill diversion and recycling of post-consumer carpet and encourage design for recyclability.

Reclamation of used carpet fibers and other nylon waste is the first step in The ECONYL® Regeneration System, an intelligent and sustainable way to create Nylon 6 fibers from waste in a continuous loop production cycle. As part of the process, waste containing high levels of Nylon 6, such as fishing nets and carpets, is transformed back into raw material without any loss of quality.

“We are pleased to be given this prestigious award from our industry partners and colleagues, reinforcing our position as a leader in sustainable manufacturing and a circular economy,” says Franco Rossi, President Aquafil USA.
