Regulations and standards for Microplastics: the contribution of Aquafil

What can we all do to tackle the issue of microplastic contamination? The topic will be discussed in the webinar “MICROPLASTICS: regulations, standards and the role of laboratories” on 15 February 2023, 13:00 – 17:00 CET, and 16 February 2023, 10:00 – 14:00 CET. organized by EUROLAB. The online event is an opportunity to connect, learn and share knowledge and best practices with experts in the field of microplastics, on EU legislations, standardization activities, and other critical issues for the laboratory sector.

Speakers include high-level representatives from the European Chemicals Agency, European Commission DG ENV, Plastics Europe, CENELEC, ISO, research institutes, and laboratory and industry sectors.

In this context, Aquafil will present its work with CNR (the Italian National Research Council) focused on researching and developing a process that analyzes microplastics’ physical and chemical features. Tiziano Battistini, Innovation Research & Development Coordinator at Aquafil Group, and Raffaella Mossotti from CNR will share the research on the methodology for the analysis of MPs released from the textile sector. The webinar has a participation fee of 80€, and registration is open until 12 February 2023 at this link.
