The Aquafil Group adheres to the United Nations Global Compact
What does the United Nations have to do with ESG investments?
Although they appear to be distant worlds, in reality, the connection between the largest and most important intergovernmental organization in the world and sustainable finance strategies is very strong.
The case of the Global Compact was emblematic: a commitment signed between the United Nations and the top managers of participating companies to build a healthy and inclusive world economy which has become a point of reference for companies and, consequently, for sustainable finance.
At the beginning of the year, our company also joined the Global Compact (UNGC), a voluntary initiative to adhere to a set of principles that promote the values of long-term sustainability, together with other 20,000 companies from 162 countries around the world.
All organizations adhering to this Covenant are required to support the Ten Principles* relating to the protection of human rights, the elimination of unfair labor practices, environmental measures, the fight against corruption and to make continuous efforts to implement them.
By virtue of transparency, each business participant is also called by the UN Global Compact Office to report annually their results on the strategies and policies adopted to promote sustainable development.
